We are one of only a few centres in the North West who have been awarded accreditation from Swim England as an Approved Training Centre. The following swim teacher courses are delivered by highly qualified and experienced tutors and are available to book online today.

Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant
The SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) course is a practical qualification which develops the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to act as an assistant swimming teacher.
You will learn about:
- The legal aspects of assisting in swimming lessons
- The responsibilities of a Swimming Assistant
- The swimming pathway, fundamental movement, core aquatic skills and component parts of strokes
- Scientific principles of swimming
- What makes up a lesson plan, equipment and communications skills
- How to identify anxiety and use of motivational techniques
- The type of assistance you can provide
- Identify your next career steps.

There are no formal entry requirements or prior experience required.
The qualification is delivered over 30 hours (26 face-to-face guided learning hours)
Assessment involves theoretical and observation and review records, although the qualification is not graded. You will either pass or be referred.

Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming
The SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification builds on your Level 1 qualification and will give you the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to become a swimming teacher.
It also includes participation in a minimum of six 30 minute, real life swimming lessons to gain hands on practical experience.
You will learn about:
- The responsibilities and role of a swimming teacher
- How the scientific principles of swimming impact on learners development
- How to develop core aquatic skills and the four strokes
- How to identify and correct common swimming faults
- How to assess ability and use a variety of teaching techniques and equipment to suit different needs
- How to plan and deliver inclusive lessons for different levels of ability. Includes adaptions for learners with special educational needs and disabilities
- Key teaching and management skills including class management and assessment, safety and safeguarding, time management and organisational skills, behavior management, communication skills, teaching methods and motivational techniques
- National curriculum swimming lessons and how they differ from learn to swim lessons
- How to plan for your professional development

Candidates must be 16 years+ AND hold one of the following qualifications;
Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching)
Swim England Level 1 Award in Teaching Aquatics
An equivalent ASA qualification certified after 1994
The qualification is delivered over 63 hours (55 are face-to-face guided learning hours)
The majority of assessment criteria in this qualification is practical based. All assessment criteria must be achieved and all evidence produced by the learner must be their own. The qualification is not graded. You will either pass or be referred.

In my view, in the main this was due to the fantastic organisation and running of the party by Peter and assistant Abi. On the run up to the party he always made himself available to discuss plans and on the day ensured the smooth running from greeting parents and entertaining children with many games. "My daughter had her 6th birthday party at Bolton School yesterday with 12 of her friends. The party was well organised by Pete Lambert and Gaz. They both had a natural rapport with the children and made my daughters birthday really special. Pete organised sports activities to suit my daughter and her friends and they all had great fun and were kept very busy! The facilities at Bolton School are great and we got chance to have half the session outside as it was sunny and the rest of the party in a large hall were they ate and played games. I would definitely recommend this kind of party to friends and family. Really good value for money too.!"

"Our 6 year old son had a fantastic football party organised & led by Pete Lambert, BSS Children’s Activity Supervisor, where 12 boys energetic boys played various football activities, with suggestions from the kids that ended with penalty shoot outs and a match, before ending with food and cake. Pete was great with the kids (a mixed group, aged 6-10yrs) and really responded to what the birthday boy & group wanted to do (for example, our son wanted to play musical statues 10mins before the end of the party) and Pete made it happen! Our son was made to feel very special and all the boys definitely commented on what a fantastic day they had! I would highly recommend this venue and I will be coming back again. Thanks again!"
